    Calibrating Sequoia Doesn't Have To Be Hard. Read These Simple Tips 

    Let’s start from calibrating our Parrot Sequoia! First, make sure the sensors are properly attached and connected. Then, we can start the calibration. 
    The multispectral sensor must be perpendicular to the sunshine sensor.  It is best to calibrate them both at the same time.
    Note:  If calibrating separately, the sunshine sensor must be connected to the multispectral sensor.  


    Step 1:   Check that the Sequoia indicator light flashes purple.   


    Step 2:  Make sure to rotate the drone on the Z-axis (yaw axis) until the green indicator light flashes on the sensor.

    Step 3:  Rotate the drone on the Y-axis (pitch axis) until the blue indicator light flashes on the sensor. 

    Step 4:  Rotate the drone on the x-axis (roll axis)until the indicator changes color.


    Note:  Once it’s completely finished, the sensor light will vary depending on the status. For instance, if the memory is full, the light indicator will flash yellow.

    Can Parrot Sequoia be used with any drone?

    Yes, you can use Sequoia with any drones due to its compact size which fits easily. The biggest highlight as well, it includes those with both fixed wing and multi-rotor functionality.

    How to mount the Sequoia to a drone?

    How to retrieve data collected?

    The data can be extracted in three different ways:
    a. Via USB - With the micro USB cable, connect the micro USB device port on the multispectral sensor to your computer.
    b. Via Wi-Fi - Connect the Sequoia sensor USB device port to a drone or a USB battery. Once the Sequoia is ON, check the "list of available Wi-Fi networks" if Wi-Fi appears.
    c. Via an SD Card - Just connect your SD card in your computer to retrieve the photos.

    Do I still need to take panel shots if I am using a sunshine sensor?

    Yes. An image of the calibrated reflectance panel is still needed both before and after flight to confirm the calibrations of the camera and the sunshine sensor or Downwelling Light Sensor (DLS). When performing the panel capture, ensure that both the panel and the sensor are being exposed to direct light from the sky, without shadowing and without reflections from other objects. In the future, we hope to improve processing such that the panel shots are no longer needed when using the DLS or sunshine sensor.

    How Sequoia Sunshine (Irradiance) Sensor works?
